A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Recently my wife, Cindy, and I were asked, “Can you call your neighbors by name?” The most basic meaning of the word “neighbor” is one who lives near or next to another, a fellow human. Cindy and I found out that, after living in our neighborhood for three years, we could name only the people who lived two doors down from us.

We live in a cul-de-sac where there are 11 houses and 27 people. I drive through my neighborhood daily to get to my office to develop strategies to expand the kingdom of God in our cities and region. But I rarely talk to my neighbors.

When a man asked Jesus to name the most important commandment in the law of Moses, this was His response: “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.  A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (Matt. 22:37-39, NLT). How can we love our neighbors if we don’t even know them?

Major Reformation (Part 2)

Watch for big things from small beginnings. If you have ever heard God say to you, “Don’t despise humble beginnings,” understand that God is gathering small groups together to do something great. It is important to be aligned in the right place, at the right time and with the right people for the second half of the year 2015.

We will see a shift come as we get aligned with God’s purposes for our lives. There is a major reformation at hand!

Repositioning – Regrouping – Reshaping – REFORMING

I keep seeing 2:22 on the clock. God spoke to me about this through Daniel 2:22:

Daniel 2:19–22 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of Heaven and said: Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him.

Watch for these things starting in June:

God is speaking through dreams and visions. The season is changing. Expect to see changes coming as God raises up new leaders for this next movement coming. God is revealing deep mysteries that have not been revealed. Expect to have hidden things revealed and a strategy on how to respond.

Major Reformation (Part 1)

This is from my prophetic word for 2015 that I released last January: There will be another major spiritual shift in June (the first one was in May of this year) and “June gloom” will lift and the fog of forgetfulness will be removed. God will begin to bring to your memory promises you have forgotten. This will set the pace for the rest of the year. Watch for things to “fall into place” in the fall.

“Take Cover!” -When I say, “Take cover,” most people think of something negative coming. But God is saying that if you stay under His covering things will work out great. Don’t be distracted by things that are in disarray right now. Things are going to smooth out in July.

Psalm 91:1–4 – Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

The enemy wants you to think that you missed something or messed up. Take cover in God and you will not have to worry.

Who We Are!

We are a racially and culturally diverse gathering of hope-filled believers who, because we’ve experienced Jesus and His Presence, long to release His love and kingdom in every sphere of our lives.

We have a passion for people and for the world to which we are assigned. We value God’s presence, radical worship, family, revival, and the supernatural release of His kingdom. We nurture honor out of a love for Jesus and what He loves.

We have evolved into a revival and equipping center through discovering our true identity in God. Bringing revival to the people and region and equipping believers is our core mandate.

Revival is the restoration of life, hope, and vision first on a personal, and then on a city wide, regional and international level.

We are passionate about God and the things of God.

We must first be a people with a vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus who love Him deeply, expressively, and joyfully.

We are to bring God’s kingdom to earth and release it on earth. We build places where heaven touches, transforms and spreads across the earth. Where His kingdom comes, miracles, healing, salvation, deliverance and transformation break out.

We are to be signs-and-wonders people, ordinary people who do extraordinary things with God, including miracles, healing, deliverance, salvation and more, on a daily basis.

We are to be lovers of God and lovers of people, touching others through releasing Jesus’ love and His transforming power.

We are to be both the Bride of Christ and the Sons of God, inheritors with Christ of the Father’s heart and harvest. We are a glorious body, co-workers and co-heirs with Jesus.

We believe in the fullness of New Testament leadership, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. We respond to the Great Commission with an apostolic and prophetic heart and culture.

We believe the Word of God is inspired by the Holy Spirit, to be infallible and inerrant. We believe that there is only one true God who longs to reveal Himself to us and to those who don’t know Him. He alone is the Redeemer, the coming King and the Creator. We believe in the Trinity, the unity of three persons in one God, expressed uniquely in the persons of God the Father, Jesus His Son, and Holy Spirit.

We are an ever-evolving, breakthrough people, who are going from faith to faith, strength to strength and glory to glory.

This is the new vision statement for a church of a friend of mine (Apostle Barbara Yoder) and I had to share it with you – Pastor Todd Syruws

Contend for Your Breakthrough

Forerunners are Emerging

Don’t be alarmed by all the disasters and unrest in the world. This is a time to stay at peace and stay on course with what God is revealing to you. The turmoil is birth pains of something new from God that is now emerging.

God is raising many people up as forerunners to the new movement that is upon us. We are called to be “new wineskin” Believers that will be willing to love people and not judge them. This new move of God that is upon us is a release of supernatural love and mercy.

Contending for Your Breakthrough

I have been prophesying this: This is a season of time that you can recover things that were stolen or lost over the past seven years or more. You have to press in and contend for it!

I recommend reading 1 Samuel 30 where David had lost everything and his followers were ready to kill him.

In the midst of his distress, he inquired of God and got a strategy (verse 7). He was able to recover his losses, and in chapter 31 his life destiny radically shifted. He went from running from the enemy to ruling as King of Israel. But it was not without a battle!

My Kingdom Will Not Wait

It began with me seeing Jesus as the Lion, and I kept hearing a roaring. Then I heard,

“I am reviving My church.

The Lion of the tribe of Judah has roared over His people bringing them to life.

The cry has gone out. Who will listen & respond?

I am not to be played with. I am fierce but loving.

I will devour those who stand before Me.

My kingdom will not be stopped.

Arise, O daughter of Zion. Shake off your slumber.

Leave behind your adornment of jewels and come to Me for the pearl of great price.

Leave behind your garments of Babylon & come be clothed in pure white.

I want a spotless bride, ready for her wedding day.

Will you respond church?

Will you hear the One calling out to you?

Do not miss your hour of visitation.

I’m coming in a way you do not expect. Many will miss it in their slumber.

Know the times are urgent, says the Lord.

My kingdom will not wait.”

The Spiritual Disease of Apathetic Christianity

The other day, I was sitting and worshiping the Lord with a group of believers. I had my eyes closed and was meditating on the words of Jesus as I sang. All of a sudden, the Lord brought to my mind a concert. The people were shouting, raising their hands, getting excited about the person singing and were joyfully excited about the concert itself. Then my mind seemed to wander to a football game. The people were yelling and engaged with what was going on. They were mesmerized and watched in utter anticipation at the next move of the ball players. Then I opened my eyes and glanced around the room at the worshipers of Jesus. No one had their hands raised, no one was excited, people were fidgeting and talking over the music; mouths were singing but not with utter joy and anticipation as seen at the ball game. Rather it was superficial and done merely out of obligation. There was a lack of real worship coming from the believers, and little reverence was being shown. My heart broke! How can we cheer for football games and get excited at Christian concerts, yet our own worship for the Creator of the universe is lacking? I don’t understand. I couldn’t help but cry and ask God for his forgiveness. Then it hit me, we have the disease of apathy. It has hit our worship, it has hit our homes, it has invaded our relationship with Christ. We simply don’t care anymore. I’ve heard pastor after pastor talk about apathy from the pulpits, yet no change comes from the body. We don’t vote because we say, ‘ah our vote doesn’t count anyhow.’ We don’t worship reverently because we say, ‘ah He loves us anyhow.’ We don’t tell people about Christ because we say, ‘ah the Holy Spirit will tell Him.’ And the list goes on and on and on. My friend God says in his word not to be apathetic…

“Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, and serve the Lord.” Romans 12:11

“Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God.” Revelation 3:2

Prophetic Word: “Opportunity is Knocking”

Last January I released a prophetic word that April would be a time when new doors of opportunity would be opening. It will take “rising above” your current situation to gain higher levels of revelation. Well, opportunities are now knocking. Get ready to open the door and watch things begin to happen quickly. It is a time of acceleration, but it might appear to take you by surprise. Just as the enemy brings surprise attacks, God is opening surprise blessings. These open doors and the release of higher-level revelation will require you to rise above your situation and circumstances. In other words, it might not look like a blessing at first.

Then I looked, and there before me was an open door in Heaven. And I heard the same voice that spoke to me before. It was the voice that sounded like a trumpet. It said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.” Revelation 4:1 ERV)

What stood out to me in Revelation 4:1 is that God is speaking things similarly to what we have heard in the past, but we have to ascend to a new level to understand it.

Is Living in You!

“And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.” (Romans 8:11)

So today, no matter what you are going through in life, you can rest assured by faith that you have victory in Christ. These things have been provided for you. And, if they’ve been provided for you, then they are yours for the taking. Paul said in II Corinthians 4:

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. ( II Corinthians 4:16-18 )

This is the key – understanding that the troubles of this world are light and momentary – but by fixing our eyes on what we do not see, then we will release this life-giving, dead-raising power that lives on the inside of us. Today, it is my prayer that you understand that the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives inside of you, and this spirit has been provided for you to operate in that very same power. Today, I pray that you start focusing on what is eternal and what is yours in Christ Jesus and let it overflow into the natural realm.

— Pastor Todd Syruws

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

But of these three that abide – faith, hope and love – perhaps hope is something that has not been as fully addressed. Where would we be without hope? You know, most of us live daily in the midst of pressuring conflict – it’s a worldwide pandemic from which none of us are immune. However, I believe it’s important we don’t lose our focus on our families and communities – the two greatest vehicles for expressing faith and love. Hope keeps us focused as deliverers for the hurts and needs of humanity around us. If we have no hope, how can we talk to them about faith and love?
